Short Films
Here are some experimental short films which have been made partly as small tests of ideas and technology and partly as short films in there own right.

Nightwood
Some where deep in an isolated wood a powerful witch begins to work her magicks. Nightwood (2003) was conceived as a simple idea to bring together various digital SFX techniques I'd been experimenting with. Rather than just produce a couple of test clips, I thought I'd string them together in a (loose) narrative. The whole film was shot using the nightvision mode of my Sony PD 120 PAL and I'm very pleased with the results!

Bi-Polar
Bi-Polar (2002) was shot as a very simple visual idea, using both nightvision and full colour modes on a Sony PC 100 NTSC. The two modes merge and combine to form kaleidoscopic images of a silent scream and a murmuring voice. The blink-and-you'll-miss-it quote is from Friedrich Nietzsche's Thus Spake Zarathustra - 'The Way Of The Creator' and should provide a clue as to the conversation between the voices. One is clearly the doubting heart full of the fears of the herd, but does it scream in agony or whisper in betrayal? Which is which?
